“Age wrinkles the body. Quitting wrinkles the soul.”
Douglas Macarthur
Have you ever noticed how quitting can become a habit, you quit once and it’s no big deal, but quitting dents the soul, it damages our sense of self worth and self esteem and can quickly become a downward spiral where we end up believing that’s our lot in life and never daring again to take action towards our great dreams.
Sure, sometimes in life quitting is actually the wise course, when you find yourself doing something you’re no longer passionate about and that no longer enriches the soul, but the quitting I’m referring to is the kind that’s a lot more common, and is associated with giving up on our dreams whether it be out of fear, lack of belief or whatever else may be holding us back at the time.
Whatever it is that causes you to doubt yourself and want to quit and give up on your dream, know that quitting isn’t the answer; the answer lies in finding a resolution to whatever it is holding you back so that you can get back on track towards achieving what’s most important to you, and to living a life filled with passion and fulfilment, not guilt and regret.
Ask yourself today, ‘What can I do to ensure I don’t give up on my dream next time I feel tempted to quit and instead look introspectively at what belief or fear may be causing me to want to do so?’
Have an Outstanding Day!
