“I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be.”
Douglas Adams
One of my favourite pieces of wisdom from Motivational guru Tony Robbins is ‘Sometimes when we don’t get our dreams we actually get our destiny’, and it’s an important lesson to bear in mind, especially when life takes a turn you weren’t expecting and that you fear is taking you further away from rather than closer to what it is you desire.
Let’s face it, it isn’t easy when things don’t go to plan in life, when a relationship ends abruptly, when we lose a job or any other setback that might befall any one of us, but if we hold onto a belief that everything happens for a reason and that as painful as it appears to be in the moment that it’s leading us to something even greater, it totally transforms the mindset we bring to the here and now and keeps you in a place that’s far more conducive to doing what speaker Willie Jolley rightly says, turning a setback into a setup for a comeback.
Ask yourself today, ‘How might changing the way I look at my setbacks completely transform my attitude and mindset and get me back to a far more positive space?’
