Bible Scriptures For The Week 10-31 Through 11-7

As I open up my Bible this morning, I opened it up to:

Jesus’ Teaching on Prayer

Luke 11: Verses 1-4

1 And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.

2 And he said unto them, When ye pray, say, Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done, as in heaven, so in earth.

3 Give us day by day our daily bread.

4 And forgive us our sins; for we also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And lead us not into temptation; but deliver us from evil.

Matthew 6:9-13 The Lord’s Prayer – King James Version

Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

The New English Version

Our Father in Heaven, Hallowed be your Name, Your kingdom come, Your will be done,
On earth as in Heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins As we forgive those Who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation But deliver us from evil. For the kingdom, the power, And the glory are yours Now and forever. Amen.

I will always be sharing scriptures with you from the King James version. 🙂

This week I’m seeking comfort through the Word and prayer…

Isaiah 40:1-9

Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished , that her iniquity is pardoned : for she hath received of the LORD’S hand double for all her sins.

The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted , and every mountain and hill shall be made low : and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.

The voice said , Cry . And he said, What shall I cry ? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field: The grass withereth , the flower fadeth : because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass. The grass withereth , the flower fadeth : but the word of our God shall stand for ever. O Zion, that bringest good tidings , get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidingtidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up , be not afraid ; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

I found the following scriptures quite powerful and comforting. If we ourselves are comforted of and by God, how much more that we can comfort our children, brothers, sisters and spouses? 🙂

2 Corinthians Chaper 1: 1-4

1 Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:
2 Grace be to you and peace from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
4 Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God.

Please feel free to share any scriptures with us that you find comforting. 🙂

Bible Scriptures For The Week

Hi there, 🙂

I need more of an incentive to read my Bible, and I think starting a series of Bible scripture posts would be an excellent one, since my heart and soul is in this blog. Thanks to my grandson! 🙂 I can’t think of a better incentive or reason!!

My goal is to read daily, and then do a recap on the scriptures I’ve read on a weekly basis.

Some depression has lead me to start reading my Bible again, and yes…it is helping!

Below are a few short scriptures that has been a comfort to me (this morning) 🙂

Psalm 119:76

May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant

Matthew 5:4

Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.

Jeremiah 1:8

“Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD

Here are a few more scriptures that has touched me recently…

Psalm 25: 1 – 7

Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul.

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.

Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.

Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.

Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old.

Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness’ sake, O LORD

And here are some scriptures that I’ve shared on the Moms Of Faith blog for which I am a guest blogger.

Proverbs Chapter 1- Verse 6 – 16

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother:

For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.

My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.

If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause.

Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit.

We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil.
Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse.

My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path.

For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood.

I hope my readers here appreciate these scriptures as I post them. 🙂

God Bless each and everyone of you!
