Be Good To Your Spirit, Mind, and Body During Stress – One Dozen Tips Plus

heart My very first tip (#1 Tip) is getting to spend time with my grandchildren. This Grandma gets to distress often; as the kids come over quite a lot. They live close by…which is awesome!!!! =)

LOVE Spending Time With My Grands!! <3 >3 (a heart for each one of them) Excellent stress reliever for ME!!

Stress can be down right deadly, if you don’t know how to deal with it. If you’re a negative thinker, then stress can be a nightmare for you.

Read the following tips with an open mind. We are all unique, and we are creatures of habit…(well, most of us) – The following stress relievers below may be just what you need if you’re going through grieving, depression, bad marriage, or relatively anything that is currently stressing you !

Make a List Of Your Own If You Have To

Here is mine…

1) Spending time with my grandchildren…LOVE, LOVE them with all my heart and could NOT imagine living my life without them. <3 Oh wait, I’ve already said that! ~ Well, it’s worth repeating!!

2) Don’t dwell on things that stress you. This can be truly hard sometimes. I know; as I’ve been there. When you’re not your best, make it YOUR mission to always try to do something out of the ordinary to efficiently distract you from your worries and stresses.

3) Workout – Exercise has helped immensely with my mood swings, depression, and stress. It gets my blood pumping; thus, making more oxygen flow to the brain and the rest of my body. Working out just makes me feel better in EVERY way. I think better, I get around better, and it also boosts my self confidence. I LOVE how I feel after a good sweat! =)

prayerchangesthings2

4) Pray – Prayer is ALWAYS an excellent option to everything that we do, and everything we are going through. God consistently answers prayer. However, we may not like the time frame, or we may not like the answer received. The Good Lord knows what our needs (and wants) are before we even ask. For me, praying DOES relieve stress, although I need to spend more time doing it. =)

5) Eat right – Eating right is being very kind to your body, mind, and spirit. When eating the proper nutrients, you will be more productive, your mood swings will most likely level out. In addition, vitamins and minerals found in healthy foods help to lift depression. Eating healthy is essentially good for you in many ways, including stress.

fruits

Side Note: I personally have found that eating bananas helps with my mood swings.

6) Live in an organized environment – If you’re like me, organization is an ever-growing process. That’s right, it never ends! lol 😉 Although, I try every day. It makes logical sense that having everything in its place at all times will undoubtedly relieve LOTS of stress!

7) Walk and breath in, then breath out….slowly. Rinse, repeat! Enough said 😉 lol

8) Spend time with your favorite hobby. If you don’t have one, FIND ONE! I find jigsaw puzzles relax me. However, it seems that the only time I mess with them are on New Year’ s Eve. lol I also enjoy coloring. Have you noticed all the new coloring books (for adults, meaning not cartoonish) that are displayed in stores now? Well, I bought 3 of them. These are hobbies of mine. I also thoroughly enjoy my iPad time every evening. That in its self, is a huge way to get rid of stress for myself.

9) Start a blog; there are free ones on the web. If you have emotions, anger, or no confidence inside of you, writing about them can help you tremendously!!!! Or you can also buy a good-sized journal and just spend time writing. Gets you thinking outside the box. 😉

10) Spend quality time with your spouse – If you are having marriage problems, and (who doesn’t, I mean, all couples go through their sets of problems from time to time). If you’ve never had a disagreement with your spouse, or gotten angry; you are among the very small population that (say) that their marriage is perfect. What’s my point? Start taking extra time to do things you haven’t done in a long time. Maybe it’s going to the show, amusement park, VACATION!!!? I like that last one; and who doesn’t love vacation? <3 Whatever the case may be, do it!

11) Move furniture around, or redecorate to change your environment. I’ve always been like that; in fact, I move furniture around (at least) once every 6 months or so. Just like my (built in) desk. I’m always wishing I could place it on the opposite side of the room. lol

I love change! <3

12) If funds allow, go on a vacation. Or at the very least, go out with a friend or relative and have a good time. It doesn’t have to be expensive to have a good time. If a vacation is NOT an option, go play cards with a couple, take a long Sunday drive, have friends over for dinner. Anything that gets you unfocused on your stresses.

Stress can do horrible things. Often times, it’s silent killer that can bring on a stroke, heart attack, or anything else that can result in death. Stress CAN do a colossal of things. Stress affects people in different ways. YOU just have to find your way around your fight or flight process responses, then go with the flow. Don’t let stress get to you!! Do something special for someone. This could be an elderly, your parents, brother, sister, or anyone that has certain needs.

Lifestyle Change

Sometimes, just changing your lifestyle can be a good stress reliever. If you’re not happy about something, change it. If your job is stressing you out, change that too! In fact, there are tons of jobs that can be performed at home. In the amount of time I’ve been working from home, I’ve come to the realization that work at home writing jobs are the easiest to find. Also, you can turn your hobby into cash by starting a business. There are some home businesses that doesn’t require a high start up fee; if at all.

One last thought…Go Shopping? However, don’t over do it and end up with 6 maxed-out credit cards! — Well, that’s a little over the top there! lol Shopping helps! 🙂

Read through my tips above objectively. Open your mind and let things happen naturally.

What ways do YOU relieve stress?

Become a scrapbook missionary—by sharing your Christian
Faith with other people today and other generations tomorrow

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~

While reading the eBook, I was inspired to begin my own scrapbook for my two grandchildren. However, I’m known for starting craft projects and not finishing them. *Sigh 🙁

I found Donna’s legacy of Scrapbooking Your Christian Faith pleasantly uplifting and incredibly inspirational. What an amazing gift to leave your family members! 🙂

Scripture From Donna

And I am sure that God, who began the good work within you, will continue His work until it is finally finished…
Philippians 1:6 (NLT)

I was raised Pentecostal, so I was brought up knowing Jesus as my Savior. I thought sharing my own story of my spiritual upbringing and my favorite scriptures with my grandchildren would be a phenomenal way I could share my heart and myself with them. 🙂

Scrapbooking Your Christian Faith

In addition, Donna Riner Weber has a special section in the book as “her love letter” to her family and grandkids. I thought, “What a lovely gesture and gift to leave your loved ones!” My favorite part! Also, something that I loved about this treasure of an eBook was all the scriptures she includes throughout. In fact, Donna begins her legacy eBook with some extraordinarily, spiritual scriptures….

Dear God,
I ask that you will be with the one who is reading this
book. As she reflects on the moments found within these
examples, would you remind her of the times you have been
there for her?

Heavenly Father, please guide and inspire her to scrapbook
her own message of faith. Help her to create stories, letters,
and prayers that will show your faithfulness to her and her
loved ones.

Please let this book be a tool to help her share her heart
moments of your presence in her life. Lord, guide her mind,
her heart, and her hands as she creates her own scrapbook
of faith.

May her love and faith reach the hearts of her loved ones as
well as those of future generations.
In the powerful name of Jesus, I ask you for those blessings
for my reader.

Amen
🙂

Faithbook: 3 Simple Ways to Scrapbook Your Christian Faith for your Spiritual Legacy

Scrapbook Your Christian Faith

By: Donna Riner Weber – A grandmother and a strong woman of God! =)

I Personally Loved Her Welcome Video On Her New WebSite!

It was extraordinarily heart-felt!

Nana, MeMa, Gigi, Granny, whatever your AKA, God has a divine mission for YOU!

When the Israelites had been in the wilderness 40 years, God told Joshua that Moses was dead and he needed to get his people ready.
Joshua listened to God, prepared his people and led the new generation into the Promised Land.
The Grandmothers Bible compares us (Grandmothers) to Joshua, in that God has called us to prepare our future generations and lead them to Him.

heart

It is our divine mission to teach our grandchildren about God’s love and how He has been faithful in our lives. But how can you teach your grandchild about God’s presence in your life?

Of course one way is through the life you live. Another is by telling your grandchild stories. But while we need to do that, over time some of our stories will be forgotten.

There’s another way you can try to ensure that God’s Presence in your life will be remembered—through Scrapbooking Your Faith (Faithbooking.)

Three simple ways to Scrapbook Your Faith

Scriptures:

The Bible teaches us to “Ponder and meditate on it (God’s Holy Word) day and night, making sure you practice everything written it in. Then you’ll get where you’re going: then you’ll succeed.” Joshua 1:8 (MSG)

To help teach your future generations about the scriptures, you can adhere one of your favorite verses by the photo of your grandchild. You may choose a scripture which you’ve used to pray for your grandchild.

Prayers:

Write a prayer especially for each grandchild. Let it be a Blessing. You may write just one prayer or write one occasionally as he matures through different stages. You might decide to write one each year on her birthdays.

Stories of Faith:

As Christians you have had experiences where you know without a doubt that God intervened. Maybe a collision was averted or you lived through an accident when the doctor had said you wouldn’t make it. Perhaps you had a baby after you had been told you’d never be able to have one or maybe God blessed your home with a precious little adopted child. Share these stories of God’s Faith.

Grandma, whatever your story of faith is, you do have one and it is your responsibility to tell your grandchild about God’s love and His presence in your life. “One generation makes known your faithfulness to the next.” Isaiah 38:19 (TLB)

Let him/her know that while everyone experiences problems, God has been there for you and He will be there for them. Through your scriptures, pictures, prayers and stories of faith teach them about God’s presence in your life. Through your Faithbook Give them Hope for their Future.

A Wake Up Call and Happy Thanksgiving

heartvalentine

My heart is heavy this morning with all the anger and hatred going on (not only in Ferguson) but in other areas of the country. I’m not going to comment either way on my thoughts on the decision that was made on the death of Michael Brown. The most important thing is what’s going on in reaction to it. I’ve never seen anything like this!

I was glued to my TV the night before last from 5pm until about 2:30 yesterday morning. My heart goes out to the Brown family. What a painful loss. I could not even begin to imagine if that were my son! I watched in enormous disbelief, and all the while asking myself, “What is this cruel world coming to?” I know to an (end) in an hour that we do not suspect.  (Rapture) I truly believe that; as my mother taught me this, and the Bible tells us so.

◄ Matthew 24: 43-45►

43″ But be sure of this, that if the head of the house had known at what time of the night the thief was coming, he would have been on the alert and would not have allowed his house to be broken into.

44″For this reason you also must be ready; for the Son of Man is coming at an hour when you do not think He will.

45″Who then is the faithful and sensible slave whom his master put in charge of his household to give them their food at the proper time?…

What was I witnessing as I sat there in horror? Violence, hatred, and anger…towards who and what?!

We ARE living in the last days, specifically how many, we do not know.

I agree with many…violence  is certainly not the answer! Again, I’m not commenting. I’m just leaving you with a few more scriptures… 🙂

*** From a few apps on my iPad…

O God, grant me a heart full of tender mercy.

Dear Lord, keep my thoughts fixed on what is true, pure, excellent and worthy of praise.

Dear Lord, help me to stay focused on Your word rather than what my human eyes can see.

Dear Lord, may we never retaliate when we feel wronged, but help us to make choices that would show that we love.

Good Jesus, give me a deep love for Thee, that nothing may be too hard for me to bear from Thee.

Let’s keep the Brown family in our hearts and in our prayers! I can only imagine what their holidays  will be like. 😉

With that said, my wish for everyone of you…have a SAFE and Happy Thanksgiving, and please continue to pray for our country and everyone that was affected by the non-indictment of officer Wilson. Pray for peace! 🙂

In addition, lets keep praying for all the police officers that are putting their lives at stake and while they are doing their job to the best of their abilities.

One Dozen Prayers – From iPad – Daily Prayers App

prayerbutton

These are just a handful of the scriptures I’ve looked up for the week, I hope you like them! They came from a cool app on my Ipad. 🙂

Today Lord, I lift up my heavy heart to you! Too many things on my mind all at once. I know you said you wouldn’t ever give us more than we could bear. I trust in you Lord that you will wrap your arms around me with your love.

Protect me with your angels! 🙂

Thank you! Amen!

For today, Lord, grant me a pure heart.

Shed Your love abroad in my heart, O God.

Thank You, God, for today.

Fill my heart with Your compassion, O Lord.

Lord, I’m leaning on Your everlasting arms.

Dear Lord, I open my eyes to You, and I give thanks for Your light that warms and brightens my day.

Jesus, thank You for loving us.

Lord Jesus, let me see through Your eyes.

Sacred heart of Jesus, have mercy on us.

Dear Lord, thank You for all our good fortune.

Lord, make me pure in heart that I might see You.

Holy Spirit, live in me today.

If you find this posts and the prayers within uplifting and helpful, share with others.. Thank you!

God Bless and Have a Great Day! 🙂

When We Go To Heaven

balloon

By: Chris Shantz

I was reading a bit this morning while sipping my hot chocolate with hazelnut creamer. It is a new book (for me). It’s titled “Hand That Rocks The Cradle” — Inspirational Meditations For New Mothers.

While I’m NOT a new mother…I am a new grandmother!

A certain meditation in the book jumped out at me… When We Go To Heaven

It started out with a mom telling her toddler to hold on tight to the balloons her child was holding. Well sure enough, one of the balloons escaped from her child’s hand.

This mother’s child reaction was:

We Can Get It Again When We Go To Heaven!

The mother resisted telling her child that when the balloon got so high that it would burst.

My Thought: After we pass on, we go to heaven; and thus, comparing the balloon to the soul. The balloon was so vivid in my mind as it carried the soul up towards the heavens and safely left it there.

On the opposite page, I found these scriptures

John 14: 1-3

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Revelation 21:10-11

10 And He carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

I quickly realized the above scriptures were my grandfather’s favorite. I’ve heard him read these many times as he preached. I also needed to read this today.;)

Whenever you are sincerely troubled or upset about something or a situation in your life is tugging at your heart strings, read the above scriptures for peace and contentment and lean upon The Lord.

Merry Christmas and Prayers – Keep CHRIST In Christmas!

XMAS TREE

Happy Holidays to you and hope you have a very Merry Christmas!

Remember to spend quality time with family and friends, and that GIVING is better than receiving. 😉

May 2014 be a safe, healthy, prosperous and happy year for you all!!

Christ Born in a Stable

http://www.prayer-and-prayers.info/christmas-prayers/

Christ born in a stable is born in me
Christ accepted by shepherds accepts me
Christ receiving the wise men receives me
Christ revealed to the nations be revealed in me
Christ dwelling in Nazareth You dwell in me
Christ, grant that people may look at me
and see Your Presence. Amen

Family Christmas Prayer

http://www.prayer-and-prayers.info/christmas-prayers/

I think about my family, my relatives, the neighbors, people with whom we will spend this day. Dear Jesus, as I look at their faces and remember their stories, there are feelings of gratitude and some fear and anxiety. Thank you for these loved ones and please forgive me for the ways I have been less than accepting and loving. Please heal the wounds, division and conflicts that stand between us and help me to remember how dearly you love them. I only want to remember that you have come to save us all.

The Christmas Tree

http://www.cptryon.org/prayer/adx/xcust.html

The Christmas tree probably originated from popular early medieval religious plays, “the Paradise Plays,” performed in churches and town squares of Europe during the Advent season. The plays told the story of the human race from the creation of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Paradise till the Birth of Jesus in Bethlehem. On stage during the play was a great tree hung with apples, symbolizing the Garden of Paradise. Soon people began the custom of putting a “paradise tree” laden with gifts and lighted with candles in their homes during the Christmas season to celebrate paradise regained through the coming of Christ.

Representing many things–the original tree of paradise, the life-giving tree of Christ’s cross, the tree John the Apostle saw in the Book of Revelations, “a tree of life, which yields twelve crops of fruit, one for each month of the year…for the healing of the nations”–our Christmas tree is rich in Christian symbolism.

Luke 2:9-14

An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.”

Happy Holidays To You and Much More to Come Here on the Blog for 2014!!!! 🙂

Happy Fall and Psalm Of David

Ahh, my favorite season — FALL! Love it! 🙂

Love the crispness of leaves with deep burgundy and orange colors

Happy Fall 2013

During the early morning hours today, I was enjoying my cocoa, breakfast and my Bible. 🙂

As I opened it up this morning, I was led to read the Psalm Of David – My Mom’s favorite scriptures! Love YOU Mom! =)

57465404

Psalm Of David

The LORD Is My Shepherd….

The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:

He leadeth me beside the still waters. Rev. 7.17

He restoreth my soul:

He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me;

Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies:

Thou anointest my head with oil;

My cup runneth over.

Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life!

And I will dwell in the house of The LORD for ever.

Cheers To a Great Week! 🙂
