"Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional."

“Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.”
Roger Crawford

They say there are only 2 certainties in life, death and taxes, yet surely they forgot the third, that as long as there’s air in your lungs, you’ll face challenges.

Every single one of us is challenges in some way or another, for some its medical, for others the unexpected loss of a love one, but whatever it may be, we alone have the choice as to whether we will allow it to defeat us, or to inspire and lift us up so we can tackle greater challenges in the future, because no great dream is every achieved without first overcoming the great challenges that come as its price tag.

Next time you face a challenge, you also face a choice, will you let it defeat you, or will you stand up and yell ‘IT’S NOT OVER, UNTIL I WIN’? I hope It’s second option, the world needs more courageous people willing to face their challenges head on knowing that in doing so, they’re growing each step of the way.

Ask yourself today, ‘Faced with the choice next time life sends me a great challenge, will I step up, or will I give up?’

“Age wrinkles the body. Quitting wrinkles the soul.”

“Age wrinkles the body. Quitting wrinkles the soul.”
Douglas Macarthur

Have you ever noticed how quitting can become a habit, you quit once and it’s no big deal, but quitting dents the soul, it damages our sense of self worth and self esteem and can quickly become a downward spiral where we end up believing that’s our lot in life and never daring again to take action towards our great dreams.

Sure, sometimes in life quitting is actually the wise course, when you find yourself doing something you’re no longer passionate about and that no longer enriches the soul, but the quitting I’m referring to is the kind that’s a lot more common, and is associated with giving up on our dreams whether it be out of fear, lack of belief or whatever else may be holding us back at the time.

Whatever it is that causes you to doubt yourself and want to quit and give up on your dream, know that quitting isn’t the answer; the answer lies in finding a resolution to whatever it is holding you back so that you can get back on track towards achieving what’s most important to you, and to living a life filled with passion and fulfilment, not guilt and regret.

Ask yourself today, ‘What can I do to ensure I don’t give up on my dream next time I feel tempted to quit and instead look introspectively at what belief or fear may be causing me to want to do so?’

Follow Those Dreams

If you want to enlarge your life, you must first enlarge your thought of it and yourself.
Hold the ideal of yourself as you long to be, your ideal of what you long to attain, the ideal of health, efficiency, fun and success. You can lift yourself by your thoughts. Your vision will help you climb mountains.

High achievement always takes place in the framework of high expectation. You’ll become as small as your controlling desire, or as great as your dominant aspiration. The courage to follow your dreams is your first step toward destiny.

When you cease to dream, you cease to live.

"Happy are those who dream dreams and are ready to pay the price to make them come true."

Leon J. Suenes

An amazing satisfaction comes when you get to the point where you know what you want and you’re prepared to take the action necessary to see it through to completion.

While all of us have dreams, irrespective of where on the totem pole of life we sit, it’s those individuals who are willing to pay the price attached to their dream who ultimately live successful lives everyone else can merely envy.

Whatever your dream is, realize that it won’t be achieved by wishing, only by doing, and the choice is yours and yours alone whether you’ll be one of the few who do versus the many who merely dream.

Ask yourself today, ‘Am I paying the price required of me to achieve my dream? If not, what can I do beginning today to start doing so to ensure I begin the journey towards achieving it?’
