Scrapbook Your Christian Faith

It was extraordinarily heart-felt!

Nana, MeMa, Gigi, Granny, whatever your AKA, God has a divine mission for YOU!

When the Israelites had been in the wilderness 40 years, God told Joshua that Moses was dead and he needed to get his people ready.
Joshua listened to God, prepared his people and led the new generation into the Promised Land.
The Grandmothers Bible compares us (Grandmothers) to Joshua, in that God has called us to prepare our future generations and lead them to Him.

It is our divine mission to teach our grandchildren about God’s love and how He has been faithful in our lives. But how can you teach your grandchild about God’s presence in your life?

Of course one way is through the life you live. Another is by telling your grandchild stories. But while we need to do that, over time some of our stories will be forgotten.

There’s another way you can try to ensure that God’s Presence in your life will be remembered—through Scrapbooking Your Faith (Faithbooking.)

Three simple ways to Scrapbook Your Faith

The Bible teaches us to “Ponder and meditate on it (God’s Holy Word) day and night, making sure you practice everything written it in. Then you’ll get where you’re going: then you’ll succeed.” Joshua 1:8 (MSG)

To help teach your future generations about the scriptures, you can adhere one of your favorite verses by the photo of your grandchild. You may choose a scripture which you’ve used to pray for your grandchild.

Write a prayer especially for each grandchild. Let it be a Blessing. You may write just one prayer or write one occasionally as he matures through different stages. You might decide to write one each year on her birthdays.

Stories of Faith:

As Christians you have had experiences where you know without a doubt that God intervened. Maybe a collision was averted or you lived through an accident when the doctor had said you wouldn’t make it. Perhaps you had a baby after you had been told you’d never be able to have one or maybe God blessed your home with a precious little adopted child. Share these stories of God’s Faith.

Grandma, whatever your story of faith is, you do have one and it is your responsibility to tell your grandchild about God’s love and His presence in your life. “One generation makes known your faithfulness to the next.” Isaiah 38:19 (TLB)

Let him/her know that while everyone experiences problems, God has been there for you and He will be there for them. Through your scriptures, pictures, prayers and stories of faith teach them about God’s presence in your life. Through your Faithbook Give them Hope for their Future.

When We Go To Heaven

By: Chris Shantz

I was reading a bit this morning while sipping my hot chocolate with hazelnut creamer. It is a new book (for me). It’s titled “Hand That Rocks The Cradle” — Inspirational Meditations For New Mothers.

While I’m NOT a new mother…I am a new grandmother!

A certain meditation in the book jumped out at me… When We Go To Heaven

It started out with a mom telling her toddler to hold on tight to the balloons her child was holding. Well sure enough, one of the balloons escaped from her child’s hand.

This mother’s child reaction was:

We Can Get It Again When We Go To Heaven!

The mother resisted telling her child that when the balloon got so high that it would burst.

My Thought: After we pass on, we go to heaven; and thus, comparing the balloon to the soul. The balloon was so vivid in my mind as it carried the soul up towards the heavens and safely left it there.

On the opposite page, I found these scriptures

John 14: 1-3

1 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.

Revelation 21:10-11

10 And He carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;

I quickly realized the above scriptures were my grandfather’s favorite. I’ve heard him read these many times as he preached. I also needed to read this today.;)

Whenever you are sincerely troubled or upset about something or a situation in your life is tugging at your heart strings, read the above scriptures for peace and contentment and lean upon The Lord.

Bible Scriptures For The Week – Fear, Depression, Peace and

Good morning 🙂

I’m greeting the day with a heavy heart. Why I’m not sure. I have these days sometimes, as we all do. However, depression seems to find me at my most vulnerable times.

As I search the scriptures today, here is what I’m finding…

Ps 34:17 The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles. Psalm 34

Isa 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee. Isaiah 43

1pe 5:6 Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: 1pe 5:7 Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7

2ti 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. 11 Timothy 1

Ps 56:11 In God have I put my trust: I will not be afraid what man can do unto me. Psalm 56

1jo 4:18 There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth is not made perfect in love.
1 John 4

Ps 27:1 A Psalm of David. The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27

Ps 46:1 To the chief Musician for the sons of Korah, A Song upon Alamoth. God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Psalm 46

I purchased a book yesterday at Walmart. It’s called…

Daily Guideposts – 365 Spirit- Lifting Devotions For Women

When I’m not working, you will find me curled up with this book somewhere in my house…most likely the couch in our living room. 🙂

Here is the website where you can find this book (in addition to Walmart) 😉

Develop an Attitude of Gratitude

“Develop an attitude of gratitude, and give thanks for everything that happens to you, knowing that every step forward is a step toward achieving something bigger and better than your current situation.”Brian Tracy

It’s interesting when chatting with successful individuals, among many common traits, gratitude for all of the blessings in their life seems to be universal amongst all of them. Why is it then that most people spend the majority of their time lamenting their current position or lack of success instead of affirming all they’re grateful for in order to open themselves up to receiving more of what they want in order to further advance themselves and their careers.

Let’s face it, we’re not always going to be satisfied with where we find ourselves in life; as Jim Rohn used to say, ‘we can’t control the direction of the wind, but we can control the set of the sail’, and irrespective of whether our lives are filled with success or failure, the first step towards achieving, doing and becoming more is to find and focus on everything we’re grateful for in the present.

Wherever you find yourself today, right now, know that you’re truly blessed, you’re blessed to be in a position where you can better dream of a better life for yourself and your family and can take action towards realising that dream; just realise, what you focus on, expands, so ensure you’re focussing on what you do want and what you are grateful for, not that which you don’t.

Ask yourself today, ‘What am I grateful for in my life, right now?, and once you’ve listed them push yourself further and ask, What could I be grateful for in my life right now? and What should I be grateful for in my life right now?’

Make it Your Life Rule to do Your Best

It will be your constant effort to be first class in everything you attempt that will help you conquer the heights of success.Always do more than you’re supposed to do and you can have, be or do anything you want.

Do a little more than average and from that point on your progress multiplies itself out of all proportion to the effort you put in.

You can do a little more each day than you think you can.

There is always a best way of doing everything.
Find it.

To enjoy enduring success, you should travel a little in advance of the rest of the world. True success comes from being successful in little things.

Let superiority be your trademark.

If You Have the Courage to Make it, You Will!

Success is a road paved with perseverance. The odds are with you if you keep trying.
There is no failure except in not trying. You cannot be beaten at anything, until you quit in your own mind. There is no defeat except from within.

You have no really insurmountable barrier except your own inherent weakness of purpose.
Consider yourself on a very long journey. Sustain your personal vision of success. In the end, you can only fail if you do not try.

Winning isn’t everything, but wanting to is.

"Act the way you’d like to be and soon you’ll be the way you act."

“Act the way you’d like to be and soon you’ll be the way you act.”
George W. Crane

It’s like the age-old question, what came first, the chicken or the egg, because for a lot of people, they have a belief that they must first achieve success in order to feel successful, yet ask any achiever and you’ll quickly find out it was the other way around, the first they began thinking like a successful individual thinks and then the success and achievement followed.

The Law of Attraction is a powerful thing, put a vibration out there that you’re thinking, acting and doing like a successful person, and you’ll find yourself attracting circumstances, people and opportunities that will open doors you never knew existed and lift you up to achieve great things with your life.

Don’t spend your life waiting for success before you think, do and act like a successful individual, start thinking, doing and acting today and you’ll start attracting what you need into your life to achieve your deepest dreams.

Ask yourself today, ‘Do I think and act like those successful individuals I admire and look up too? If not, what can I do today to change that?’

I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but…….

“I seldom end up where I wanted to go, but almost always end up where I need to be.”
Douglas Adams

One of my favourite pieces of wisdom from Motivational guru Tony Robbins is ‘Sometimes when we don’t get our dreams we actually get our destiny’, and it’s an important lesson to bear in mind, especially when life takes a turn you weren’t expecting and that you fear is taking you further away from rather than closer to what it is you desire.

Let’s face it, it isn’t easy when things don’t go to plan in life, when a relationship ends abruptly, when we lose a job or any other setback that might befall any one of us, but if we hold onto a belief that everything happens for a reason and that as painful as it appears to be in the moment that it’s leading us to something even greater, it totally transforms the mindset we bring to the here and now and keeps you in a place that’s far more conducive to doing what speaker Willie Jolley rightly says, turning a setback into a setup for a comeback.

Ask yourself today, ‘How might changing the way I look at my setbacks completely transform my attitude and mindset and get me back to a far more positive space?’

“The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight, but has no vision.”

“The most pathetic person in the world is someone who has sight, but has no vision.”
Helen Keller

Do you have a clear vision for your future, something you’re working towards and taking action towards achieving it every day?

Too many people allow themselves to go through life like a ship without a sail, allowing the wind to direct them rather than taking control and becoming the master of their own destiny by having a clear vision they not only believe in, but take action on a regular basis towards.

Your life is like a blank canvas, and it’s up to you to decide what the end result is going to look like, whether you’ll look back with pride at a life well lived and a life lived on your terms, or whether you look back with a tinge of regret knowing that with a clearer vision you might have achieved so much more with this gift we call life.

Ask yourself today, ‘Do I have a clear vision that I’m working towards for my life?’

It’s not what you have, but what you enjoy that constitutes your abundance. Your real riches are riches in your head and heart.

Wealth without enjoyment is little consolation. True satisfaction comes from appreciating what you have.

There are two ways of being happy: you must either diminish your wants or augment your means. It’s always better to appreciate things you cannot have than to have the things you cannot appreciate.

Your riches will always lie within you, not in your material possessions.
