Life is a Precious Gift

“Life is a precious gift. Don’t waste it being unhappy, dissatisfied, or anything else you can be.”
Author Unknown

I know in my own life, I have a tendency to get frustrated easily when things get off track or I’m not achieving the result I believe I should be achieving, yet the quote above gives a great reminder that life is short and any moment spent unhappy or dissatisfied is a moment wasted.

When things side track you in your own life and you start feeling unhappy or dissatisfied, it’s worth keeping things in perspective by asking yourself whether this event will even matter five years from now, and if it won’t, don’t let it ruin your opportunity to live fully in this moment.

Life truly is a gift, and everyone one of us as they say will be a long time dead, it’s up to us to ensure that we recognise the gift we have and that we take the opportunity every moment presents us with to not just exist, but to live.

How might my entire outlook on life change if next time I feel the urge to experience unhappiness or dissatisfaction at my circumstances and my life that I instead focus on everything I’m grateful for and remind myself what a great gift I have in my hands?’

  1. Hey Darlene,

Thanks so much for the reminder. I agree, we should not waste time being angry, sad, or depressed. We should always be grateful for WHAT WE DO have.

Enjoy life NOW "in the present," as we never know when this life can be taken from us.

    Excellent post Darlene! 🙂
