Above all, be true to yourself…….

“Above all, be true to yourself, and if you cannot put your heart in it, take yourself out of it.”

Author Unknown

Are you completely passionate about what you’re spending today doing? Be honest, because the only person you’re short-changing by kidding yourself is yourself.

I ask that, because for most people the answer is no, it’s a no brainer, 97% of the population admit to disliking their chosen profession, yet why spend your most valuable asset, your time here on earth, pursuing something that doesn’t fill you with passion.

For 8 years I’ve been writing this EZINE almost daily, and I don’t do it for the money or the recognition (although I love hearing stories of how my works impacted lives), I do it because it’s my passion, my purpose and my mission in life to help other people live more fulfilling and success filled lives, and truth be told, it’s what makes me feel most alive.

The question is what makes you feel most alive? Is it what you’re currently spending the majority of your time doing, or is have you allowed yourself to shut out the little voice that cries out hoping you’ll pursue your passion?

This is, as my friend would say, your one and only shot at life, make sure you choose to be one of the 3 percent who love what they do and who feel alive every minute that they’re doing it.

Ask yourself today, ‘What makes me feel most alive, and what am I doing about pursuing it so I feel it as often as possible?’

Quick Lunch – Low Fat Caesar Green Beans and Rice

I’m slowly learning the Weight Watchers Point System 😉

My world revolves around “How many points does this or that have?” LOL

This was a quick lunch I had today…it was actually very tasty. However, I have to watch my fat and sugar intake a little more closely. Instead of “This is a work-in-progress” …This is definitely a “learn-in-progress”

Low Fat Caesar Green Beans and Rice

1 cup whole grain Minute brown rice – It doesn’t have to be the instant type 😉
3/4 cup steamed green beans
1 teaspoon low fat caesar salad dressing
2 tablespoons dried fruit – trail mix

Microwave rice, steam or microwave green beans. I’m learning to use my steamer more. 🙂 Toss together on a plate or bowl, adding the dressing and dried fruit. Salt and pepper to taste.

This recipe set me back 11 points. I’ll make sure I consume less points for dinner today. lol

When adding up points for each meal or snack, some things surprise me as to how many points they have.

What did I say?…I’m learning. 🙂

Life is a Precious Gift

“Life is a precious gift. Don’t waste it being unhappy, dissatisfied, or anything else you can be.”
Author Unknown

I know in my own life, I have a tendency to get frustrated easily when things get off track or I’m not achieving the result I believe I should be achieving, yet the quote above gives a great reminder that life is short and any moment spent unhappy or dissatisfied is a moment wasted.

When things side track you in your own life and you start feeling unhappy or dissatisfied, it’s worth keeping things in perspective by asking yourself whether this event will even matter five years from now, and if it won’t, don’t let it ruin your opportunity to live fully in this moment.

Life truly is a gift, and everyone one of us as they say will be a long time dead, it’s up to us to ensure that we recognise the gift we have and that we take the opportunity every moment presents us with to not just exist, but to live.

How might my entire outlook on life change if next time I feel the urge to experience unhappiness or dissatisfaction at my circumstances and my life that I instead focus on everything I’m grateful for and remind myself what a great gift I have in my hands?’
