Can Article Marketing Lead To A Full Time Income?

I would like to thank Corrie from WAHM -Articles.com for inviting me to participate in this blog tour with my Grandmother blog. It is my first tour, and it provided a new learning curve for me. I appreciate the invite and new experience.

Since work at home jobs and opportunities is my industry, I chose the above question/title to answer in the best way I knew how.

First and foremost, yes…it is indeed possible to make a full time income by using the techniques of article marketing alone to get targeted traffic to your website where your services or products are offered.

#1 You need a website
#2 You need traffic to that website, and lots of it

I network with many work at home professionals on a daily basis that spend all their efforts on article marketing alone to sustain sufficient traffic to their websites in order to earn enough income online to support their families.

Is article marketing an easy set-and-forget promotion strategy? No!

Is article marketing profitable and rewarding? Yes!

Keep in mind however, that to be a success in article marketing, you have to be consistently committed to it. You DO have to like article writing enough to do it over and over again every single day. The written article will have to be an ever-growing, daily work in progress for you.

Each and every morning you will have either an empty word document, a partially completed document, or a completed one waiting to be freshly read and proofread, OR all the above, waiting for you in your home office.

Day in and day out, you will write articles. You can’t expect success with just a handful of submitted articles. Write an article, proofread it, submit it. Do it again, and again, and yes, again!

Now that you know the frequency of writing and submitting articles, you need to determine two important factors along the way to help you with being successful as an article writer.

Who are you writing articles for?

What is your niche? What is your target market? What is your website about? And more importantly, why do people visit YOUR site? Ask yourself these questions and write your articles based on your audience. Include the information that your visitors want and are desperately looking for. Use specific keywords in your written work that will keep your readers coming back for more and also will result with search-engine-friendly articles.

Where do you publish them?

For starters, you need to be submitting them to well established article directories where others can read them and possibly use them on their own websites with giving you full credit by including your resource box. You substantially reap the rewards tenfold with online directories. However, it doesn’t have to stop there. There are a few more excellent hot spots where you can display your written work for even more maximum exposure.

Below are 3 more ideas for exposure

1) Message Forums – There has been much controversy over forums and how traffic to them has slowly declined since the rave of Twitter and Facebook hit the social networking scene. However, I still believe there is potential in the boards that have a good flow of traffic. If you are a forum owner and you have a steady flow of traffic coming to it, you have worked hard at establishing your forum and making sure you consistently have fresh topics for your readers daily. That takes hard work, true motivation, and discipline.

Below is some feedback that I’ve received over today’s controversy of forums. These comments come from reputable online business professionals who I network with and trust, and I thank them for their cooperation, as I’ve contacted them to use their comments exclusively for this blog tour.

Here is what they had to say

Trent Brownrigg – gr1innovations.com/ – “Forums probably are losing value and interest because of social sites but I don’t think they will ever totally die out. I, for one, still like them.”

Chris Knight – blog.ezinearticles.com/ – I sent Chris a direct message on Twitter to find out what he had to say and this was his reply. “Forums are a big Yawn!”

So yes, there is definitely mixed reviews with marketing through forum boards with comparing views from just a few short years ago. So, what are YOUR thoughts?

2) Newsletters – Newsletters are excellent to have your article displayed. Join a few of the larger database ones and contact the owner for possible inclusion. You will find that most are willing and happy to accept fresh content.

3) Article Exchanging – This is a marketing technique that I believe in and practice every chance I get. It’s a win-win situation. Both parties benefit when you exchange articles with other website owners. As both participants are gaining fresh content for their readers and visitors and also establishing site exposure at the same time.

And finally, a full time income means various things to different homebased workers. Some may be comfortable making $400 per month, while others need a lot more than that. As for income, you get back according to your efforts…the harder you work, the more income you will generate.

  2. What a fantastic post! Tammy, I'm so glad that you participated in this tour and posted this excellent information. It's very timely for me in particular as I love to write and have been giving article marketing some much more serious thought recently. I picked up some very useful tips here and "Article Exchanging" – how cool is that?! I wasn't familiar with that before now but think it's an excellent idea. I am currently reading a book that is helping me put some of my ideas into motion and I think I might be ready to jump into the field soon after. I have my own blogs I need solid content for, but want to reach even more beyond that. Thanks again. All the best!!
