Got to thinking…..

You know I got to thinking about something yesterday and I want to put this into action soon.

We were babysitting the two kidlets for a few hours and its amazing the things kids will come out with. Ava was putting on her shoes and got frustrated because one didn’t feel right. I told her it was the wrong foot. She said no it wasn’t and I said yes it was. So what did she do? She sat on the floor and gave me that frown she has and said, ” You are driving me nuts”.
I had to laugh she was so serious.

My grandson was sitting with hubby and hubby said maybe he and Aiden should go for a little drive. Aiden said, “We can’t go grandpa, we don’t have a vehicle.” I said to hubby, he didn’t say car or truck, he said vehicle. It goes to show how mature kids are today and how if you talk to them in a grown up way, they learn so quick. We never talked the baby talk to our 3 sons and now my kids are doing the same with their own kids.

So with the things they have been saying lately, it got me to thinking. I would like to start writing down all these little things they say, with their age and date and keep them all in a book for when they get older. I think it would be great for them to have something to look back on about their childhood and see things they said or read about things they did that were funny.

I just wish I had thought of this when they first started talking. It would make for some interesting reading.
I think I am going to start one anyhow. Never too late.

Not Just A Grandma, But A Great Aunt Too

On February 27th of this year, I became a Great Aunt to triplets. Yes! ๐Ÿ˜€

My brother is a Grandparent finally. ๐Ÿ™‚

He was going to attempt doing his Grandparenting duties every Friday (since he’s off on Fridays , poor guy and devoted Grandpa, his only day off) all by himself.

Hmm….but after thinking about it, and also since the babies were born, he’s decided he will need help! There is another family member that agreed to help him out.

I think they have family members for every day of the week now so Mom can get back to work after her ML is over.

These precious baby’s parents are needless to say…tired. LOL!

Both Mom and Dad are taking turns at getting up at night with them and doing the best they can.

BTW, They are currently taking diaper donations. lol ๐Ÿ˜‰

Aren’t they just adorable? ๐Ÿ˜€

Grandma’s Home Blogger Place Has A New Header!

Hi there,

In case you haven’t noticed, Grandma Bloggers has a brand new header. ๐Ÿ™‚

Karlyn created it for me, just as she has many other projects. Check her out if you need any graphics, header designs, blogs, websites, buttons, banners, you name it, she does it. =)

Ava is so proud of herself….

My grandaughter is 2 years and 5 months old and is now fully trained. She is just beside herself with pride I tell you. I was there yesterday babysitting for a couple hours and she said she had to go to the bathroom. So up the stairs we went and she asked me to sit her on the “big” toilet. I did as she asked but I couldn’t hold her there. She is big enough to sit by herself she said. So okay, she did her thing and I helped her off. She looked at me and said “no more diapers for me, only at bedtime now”. Then she asked me if I liked her fancy underwear. lol I told her yes they were very pretty and she asked me if I would like some the same as hers. Kids can be so funny at times.

She is just so proud of herself. Its so nice to not have to change diapers too. So now both her and my 3 1/2 year old grandson are both fully trained. Sooo nice.

First Time Grandmother Butterflies

Yes, I have them! Even though I have a 25 year old grown son and have tons of babysitting experience, I’m still a little apprehensive. And I know in my own mind and heart, that once I hold my grandson in my arms for the first time, all those fears will flee.

Just as a mother’s instincts start to form, so do a grandmother’s instincts. So, why am I writing this blog entry??

Good Question! ๐Ÿ˜‰

Well writing is therapeutic, even for Grandmas. :p Also just maybe…other Grandmothers will shed some light on my apprehension?? Is it normal to be nervous as a first time Grandma? Please tell me YES! lol

You all better tell me yes………………! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

We have about 3 months to go and our little guy will be here! ๐Ÿ˜€ I think I’m approaching a crocheting weekend. I will do nothing else but crochet. I have to get this project complete and out of the way!

I also have ordered the crib that my son and DIL specifically wants. It will be here in about a week, but guess what???

I’m going to make my DIL wait until the shower..SNICKER – SNICKER – SNICKER! LOL :p =)

I’m a mean Ol Granny, aren’t I? Hmm, maybe I ought to rethink this, those butterflies just may bite me in the hindy??? heh?

Truth be told, I literally can’t wait for this little person to get here. ๐Ÿ˜€

Ultra Sound – So Precious

I’m so excited! Grandma gets to go to the next ultrasound with her Son and DIL. =)

I just found out the date of the baby shower…I better get a move on with the afghan! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

It’s amazing how much technology has changed since I had my son.

Easter: Reason for the Season

From: Easter Stories and Poems

By Bethany Roberts

E is for Easter, coming soon,
A is for angels, near the tomb,
S is for stone which was rolled away,
T is for tomb, found empty that day,
E is for early morning, the women are glad,
R is for the Risen Lord, no reason to be sad.

Enjoy Your Day! ๐Ÿ˜€

Got a fat lip from my grandaughter….

My son came over yesterday with the kidlets and I was having fun playing with Ava. She was sitting on my knee and wanted me to open my mouth. I kept saying not and she kept trying to open it. I kept my lips held as tight as I could and she took one hand and put it behind my neck and pinched me and the other hand she held onto my lip and tried to pry it open. Well it worked. lol I started to laugh and my grandson looked at me and said,” Grandma what is that on your mouth?”

I had no idea what he was talking about but I could taste something strange. I rubbed my mouth and it was bleeding. I let on I was crying, saying Ava, you hurt grandma. She was rubbing my face and I peeked through my fingers and burst out laughing at the sad look on her face. Oh my gosh it was funny. Aiden didn’t know what to do so he laughed with me. He told his sister not to hurt me anymore. So I had to explain to them both that it was an accident and she didn’t mean to hurt me like that. lol They both felt better after that.

Its little things like this I should start writing in a book to keep for them when they are older. Just thought of that now. Might be a good idea
